You will need to bring the “Inspection Request Form,” which can be purchased from the nearest registry office. We will not be able to process the inspection until we receive the Inspection Request Form.
You do not need to show us previous registration or insurance.
In Alberta, you cannot have window tint at front driver and pasenger’s window or front windshield. You can get a ticket as well that it must be removed for the inspection.
For the front windshield, you cannot exceed the crack size specified in the manual. “Section 4.1b – Reject if the windshield has crack or blemishes more than 12mm in diameter in the area swept by wipers.”
Also, you cannot have a check engine light, airbag light, or any safety warning lights. These issues must be cleared in order to pass the inspection.
For the out-of-province inspection, there are a total of 12 sections on the checklist. These sections cover all the safety-related items, such as the engine, suspension, brakes, tires, lighting, exterior condition, and more.
If your vehicle is newer or has been well-maintained, you are more likely to pass the inspection successfully.
